Dress-Code
All swimmers must wear the appropriate colour coded swimming caps as provided upon registration and a one-piece costume when attending swimming lessons. We discourage the use of goggles during learn-to-swim classes unless recommended by a doctor for medical reasons, or your swimming instructor advises you/the swimmer to make use of goggles. Children using the pool who are not potty trained are to wear aqua nappies.
Payments Payments are to be made in advance by the 1st of the month. Should your fees not be paid by the 1st of the month no lessons will be given. Failure to settle immediately will result in your account being handed over. We employ the services of an outside agency to collect unpaid fees. Any extra charges levied will be for your account. Payment options are strictly via EFT. We do not accept cash deposits into our bank account. A registration fee is charged upon joining or re-joining the academy. Upon joining the academy, your first invoice upon registration; the first month’s fees are to be made in full along with the relevant deposit applicable, prior to the first swimming lesson.
The annual increase in swimming fees is effective on the 1st of September or 1st of March each year. Aquanation Swimming academy will be closed for 2 weeks over Christmas and New Year and for 1 week in winter. Fees are still payable for this period, even if you/your child is not attending lessons due to the holidays.

Membership Membership shall continue for an indefinite period subject to one calendar month’s written cancellation notice. All notices must be in writing and must be e-mailed to admin@aquanation.co.za, no later than the 1st day of your last swimming month. Late notices will NOT be entertained. Lessons missed will not be caught up. In certain circumstances, whereby we are notified at least 6 hours prior to your class, we will arrange a make-up class. In the case of extended absence (more than 1 month) we will catchup 2 of every 4 lessons missed. Once a catch up class has been schedule, it may not be rescheduled. A missed catch up lesson will mean the lesson is forfeited and cannot be claimed again. It is the responsibility of the swimmer/parent/guardian to ensure notice is given and that a catch up lesson is scheduled. Lessons cancelled due to lightning, or any other uncontrolled incident will be rescheduled, or land training will be conducted instead. It is courteous to let us know if you will not be able to make a lesson. Please do this whenever possible, preferably via WhatsApp or Email. The school is closed on all public holidays.
Privacy Policy Aquanation Swimming Academy respects your right to privacy and comply with obligations under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPI Act). We are committed to protecting any personal data that we collect. The purpose of this Privacy Policy is to enable you to understand what personal information of yours is collected, and how and when we use or share your information. Definition of Personal Information The definition of personal information as set out in the POPI Act is as follows: Personal Information means information relating to an identifiable, living, natural person, and where it is applicable, an identifiable, existing juristic person. Personal Data Collected Examples of personal information we collect are names, address, email address, cell numbers, date of birth, gender, identity number or passport number etc. We collect and process your personal information to provide you with access to our services (swimming lessons; the planning, execution and administration thereof). What Do We Use Your Personal Information For The necessary information that we receive from you may be used in the following way: • To respond to your comments, queries and support requests. • To provide you with details of your lesson day and time and of any changes to this for the duration of your time with us. • To carry out any obligations arising from any contracts entered into between you and us. • To send you communication, including but not limited to newsletters, changes in fees, updates, events, competitions, changes to service.
Housekeeping Rules
No parents or other persons are allowed in the pool area during lessons. Parents may watch the lesson from the viewing room. There is to be NO running around, or unassisted diving or jumping into the pool. Please be considerate when parking. Siblings or other family members who are not members at our school are not allowed to join a lesson casually. Please make use of our facilities respectably. As members progress, they will move into a new learning sphere. Colour coded caps indicate the level of the swimmer, members are required to purchase the new cap. No swimmer will be allowed into the pool without an appropriate swimming cap. Participation in GALA’s is essential. We evaluate our swimmers twice a year in May/June and in November/December each year.
INDEMNITY FORM Please read carefully and sign below I fully understand that the activities and exercises of the swimming programme require vigorous physical activity, herby represent and confirm that I/the aforementioned minor/child/ren’s physical condition and health permits me/him/her/them to fully participate in the swimming activities and exercises without undue risk to my/his/her/their wellbeing. Should I/my/child/ren feel unwell shortly before the lesson, I undertake full responsibility of immediately withdrawing myself/him/her/them for participation in the lesson. I acknowledge on behalf of myself/the/aforementioned minor child/ren of the potential danger incidental to engaging in swimming activities, which include, but not limited to, bodily injuries, health disorder and even possible death. I, in my personal capacity as parent/guardian for the minor child/ren/myself hereby accept those risks. I/the aforementioned minor child/ren is voluntary participating in this programme. I/the minor child/ren will not be accepted for participating in the program of the swimming instructor knows of any reason why my/his/her/their participation would be dangerous to my/his/her/their health. I understand that Aquanation Swimming Academy many take my child to a swimming activity, travelling by motor vehicle. I request, and consent to the aforementioned minor child/ren being transported by Aquanation Swimming Academy to and from the swimming venue/s by Aquanation Swimming Academy representative/employee, which representative/employee will be in possession of a valid driving license. I authorise the swimming instructor to obtain or perform any emergency medical assistance which they deem necessary, in the event of any accident, and I agree to be responsible for all necessary and reasonable medical expenses incurred in this regard. I further understand and agree that my child/ren must always be supervised whenever near or in the water. I understand and agree that these lessons do not imply or make any guarantee of water safety for my infant/child/ren and that a responsible adult shall always supervise my child/ren I confirm that I am fully aware of the legal consequences of signing this document and declare that I am duly authorised to enter into this agreement on my/the said minor’s behalf.
Health and Safety Whereas every precaution is taken to ensure the safety of all parties, Aquanation Swimming Academy, its owners, staff, assistants, volunteers, or landlord, will not be held liable for damages, injuries, loss of life or possessions due to anyone entering our premises and/or participating in any activities. Persons entering or participating in any activity, do so at their own risk. There can be no claims whatsoever against Aquanation Swimming Academy, its staff, assistants and volunteers.
